This month, we are highlighting Elena Sanchez. Elena is the Receptionist at Evarts Tremaine.
What does a typical day look like for you?
One of the things I like most about my role is that each day looks a little bit different. I’m used to a high-paced environment so it’s been fun getting to assist with and take on various projects, learning about the industry as I go.
How did you get started in the insurance industry?
I am brand new to the insurance industry! I was previously working as an executive assistant and events manager in a similar corporate environment. Before and during that time, I also worked in the restaurant industry. The common thread between my current role and jobs I’ve had in the past is definitely customer service. I love working with people and have been able to apply that skill to a number of industries and it’s resulted in a diverse, rewarding work history.
What is the most rewarding part of your job?
The most rewarding parts of my job are knowing that the work I do plays an important role in supporting the work of my colleagues and the fact that I’m always learning something new.
When you are not working, what are your favorite hobbies?
Some of my favorite things to do include practicing yoga, attending concerts, trying new foods, hanging out with my cat, Nana, and spending time in nature.
What is one thing you would like people to know about the insurance industry?
One thing people should know about the insurance industry is that it’s truly dynamic. In my short time at Evarts Tremaine, I’ve gotten to see adaptive and creative responses to major changes and that’s not something you get to be a part of in every industry.
