At Evarts Tremaine, we like to spotlight our team members to give an inside look at their everyday routines.
This month, we are highlighting Madison Cummings. Madison is an Account Coordinator in our Personal Insurance Division.
What does a typical day look like for you?
A typical day in the office for me is processing claims, running driving records, helping with new business quotes, issuing auto ID cards, and issuing out property inspections. When I am out of the office, I enjoy going to concerts at local venues, reading books and comics, and spending time with my 14-year-old yellow lab Rocky.
How did you get started in the insurance industry?
Overall, I did not expect to be working in the insurance industry. I’m new and am currently in the process of obtaining my insurance license. I was connected to Evarts Tremaine through a recruiter Roseanne. She had nothing but positive things to say about Evarts Tremaine and their work environment, which was something I was looking for.
What is the most rewarding part of your job?
I thoroughly enjoy the people that I work with. Coming into a new work environment where coworkers are excited and willing to help you learn is a great feeling. I cant wait to get to know and help out clients even more.
When you are not working, what are your favorite hobbies?
When I’m not working I love to relax and read. I normally read Fiction, Sci-Fi, and Horror. Currently I’m reading “The Witcher” Series by Andrzej Sapkowski, “John Dies at The End” Trilogy By David Wong, and the Comic “Saga” by Brian K. Vaughan. I also really like to go to concerts. Recently I just saw Motion City Soundtrack on their “Don’t call it a comeback” Tour.
What is one thing you would like people to know about the insurance industry?
I feel like a lot of people think that the insurance industry is boring, but surprisingly enough it’s not! There are so many aspects of life that you would never think would come up with insurance, or things that you would need insurance for! I’ve learned something new everyday since starting here and I love it!
